I've been making rather slow progress on it lately, but now I finished assembling my bed frame and a bedside cupboard (and am waiting for the stain to dry). So here is a picture of what they look like right now. :P

The next item will be a 4-drawer cupboard, which I'm going to start on after lunch today. ^^;;; After that will probably be the TV shelf so that I can actually buy a TV, some barstools, the computer desk and chair, and finally the sofa-bed and coffee table. And then I'll be all done! ^^;

Speaking of which, I should start looking for something to cook other than pork chops, chicken fillets and turkey as well as get more pots, pans and dishes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I decided that I was too lazy to stick it on the end of my previous post, so...

Here are the pictures! :P

So, I'm on a mailing list at work, and I posted a question about performance opportunities, and someone replied saying that he was going to organize an Open Mic event. In case you don't know what that is, it's basically like a free concert which doesn't have a fixed genre. So far, I think there are about 6 or 7 items, including several bands, and possibly even a jazz sextet (I think).

And... I'm thinking of performing some (maybe two or three) ragtime pieces. ^^;;;; I need to buy a keyboard first and practice like crazy, after my first paycheck I haven't decided exactly which ones yet, but I have some in mind, including possibly a certain ghostly rag. :P

I'm somewhat nervous about it, of course, but... We'll see how it goes?

In other news, mee goreng is coming up soon, and [livejournal.com profile] itsacz will finally get the chance to try my cooking and provide an unbiased review. Hopefully that will be enough to silence the critics such as [livejournal.com profile] wao... ^^;;;

This day was eventful because of how many times I woke up in the morning. ^^;;; I woke up around 3 am because I couldn't sleep, then around 6 am, and then finally fell asleep and woke up around 10:45 am. So I think I'm pretty much over the jet-lag. :P I definitely should be, in any case...

The view outside my apartment at around 7 am )

Since I haven't posted any pictures of the inside of my apartment, I took some this morning. The lighting's a bit off because I didn't turn on all the lights, but it's still pretty nice.

I'd posted pictures of Unigard Park covered in fog yesterday, and I walked past it this afternoon on my way to Crossroads to buy a HP all-in-one device (printer, scanner and copier) and a wireless router, among other things. The all-in-one is so that I don't go broke at Kinko's... The difference today was remarkable...

What a difference a day makes )

For dinner today, I decided to try something different, instead of eating out or making do with bread and butter. I cooked.

Yes.

For real.

Here's the evidence in case you don't believe me!

If basket can cook, so can you?! )

I bought 2 boneless chicken breasts, a red and green bell pepper, some corn oil and a 10oz bottle of soy sauce, as well as some other items, from the somewhat nearby Uwajimaya in Bellevue for only $16. That certainly beats the prices at QFC for the same items, and it's much nearer. :P

Since I only cooked one of the chicken pieces and used some of the peppers, I can still cook something for myself tomorrow. Maybe it'll be the same dish, maybe not. But at least I can save money this way and eat somewhat healthily. ^^;;

There was also a pamphlet for their "Year of the Boar" sale, including a recipe for lemon chicken. I might try that out sometime. :P
