Second day in Seattle
Feb. 6th, 2007 10:17 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This day was eventful because of how many times I woke up in the morning. ^^;;; I woke up around 3 am because I couldn't sleep, then around 6 am, and then finally fell asleep and woke up around 10:45 am. So I think I'm pretty much over the jet-lag. :P I definitely should be, in any case...
Since I haven't posted any pictures of the inside of my apartment, I took some this morning. The lighting's a bit off because I didn't turn on all the lights, but it's still pretty nice.
I'd posted pictures of Unigard Park covered in fog yesterday, and I walked past it this afternoon on my way to Crossroads to buy a HP all-in-one device (printer, scanner and copier) and a wireless router, among other things.The all-in-one is so that I don't go broke at Kinko's... The difference today was remarkable...
For dinner today, I decided to try something different, instead of eating out or making do with bread and butter. I cooked.
Yes.
For real.
Here's the evidence in case you don't believe me!
I bought 2 boneless chicken breasts, a red and green bell pepper, some corn oil and a 10oz bottle of soy sauce, as well as some other items, from thesomewhat nearby Uwajimaya in Bellevue for only $16. That certainly beats the prices at QFC for the same items, and it's much nearer. :P
Since I only cooked one of the chicken pieces and used some of the peppers, I can still cook something for myself tomorrow. Maybe it'll be the same dish, maybe not. But at least I can save money this way and eatsomewhat healthily. ^^;;
There was also a pamphlet for their "Year of the Boar" sale, including a recipe for lemon chicken. I might try that out sometime. :P

Date: 2007-02-07 06:24 am (UTC)Uh right. I still see bread and butter there. :P
Hmm, how long does it take to walk to the Asian supermarket?

Date: 2007-02-07 06:36 am (UTC)It took me about half an hour to walk there (and the same amount of time or a bit more to walk back), and about 45 minutes to decide what I wanted to buy. The actual cooking took about half an hour ^^;;

I bet you did this especially to spite me and insist you CAN cook hardy har har.
I'd still be very apprehensive of trying it out, anyway :P
And your pictures are still made of fail and blurry >:0 Stop shaking your hands! That's a rather cozy sort of apartment...
