Yes, this is a long overdue post...
I first went to Boston in late September, both for the XKCD meetup and to meet
haplo3k and
fusilliban. It was much fun, and I had a really awesome time there. I even managed to walk through Harvard! And, of course, I took some pictures too...

XKCD meetup and Boston
The day after the meetup, I went to New York by train. Yes, that's right, by train. The Acela Express is a limited-stop train that takes about 3 hours to get from Boston to New York's Penn Station. It's not as fast as an airplane, but it certainly has features that an airplane can't easily match, such as power outlets at all seats and a quiet car where people can travel uninterrupted.
I had no problems getting to my hotel, and few problems meeting my friend there. We went to Koreatown in New York, which is really quite impressive and has a lot of delicious food in it~
And I was able to go to places that I've only dreamt about going, such as Times Square, the Apple Store, Macy's in New York and Central Park.

I spent a weekend with my cousin and her husband in upstate New York, and it was so pretty~ She even took me on a tour of Bard College, where she works, and it certainly feels more like an actual college campus thanI'm sorry to say NUS, NTU or even SMU. Though part of that is because of land constraints...

New York
Overall, it was very fun and I'd definitely love to go back to New York again!
I'm rushing for dinner right now before my flight to Michigan, so I'll post part 2 shortly (perhaps at an airport somewhere)~

Your adventures in America really do feel awesome... but there were no cats.

What do you mean there were no cats? ;_; *points to Pixel and Matrix*

Date: 2007-12-29 01:11 pm (UTC)And I forgot this was the past 3 months. ;o
By the way, I might ask you for help while I'm here - today stuff seems to be working very weirdly... Leaving aside the fact that the internet's acting erratically, the browser is strangely doing this: when you type in an url like "http://nyankoframe.livejournal.com/276456.html" it sometimes converts it to "http://276456.html/". o.o I've never seen it do that before... I restarted the router and flushed teh dns cache but it won't stop doing that. It also won't connect to some sites at all. :(
edit: I can't even see your pictures on flickr anymore! ;_;
