A bit old, but I think at least one person would appreciate this. :D

In other news, I went to Vancouver last Saturday on a day trip with some friends, and it was, for lack of a better word, awesome.
We had lunch there at Prima Taste (since Shabu-Shabu was closed until 5 pm and we were all hungrywhich I blame on being stuck at the US/Canada border for an hour), and on the way I saw an H-mart and was tempted to go inside and look, except that it seemed to be closed. ^^;;
I also went shopping in Vancouver and got myself some new A|X pullovers and other winter clothes as well as dress pants. I think I enjoyed myself shopping a bit too much though. :P
The Richmond night market was almost like being back in Chinatown with all the different kinds of food, drinks, entertainment (live karaoke, anyone?), movies and other things there. I was pretty tired by then, though, so I just wandered through and fell asleep on the drive back to Seattle.
On Sunday, I went to a friend's place for a barbecue lunch. Even though it was raining, he still went ahead with the BBQ, and it was surprisingly good. I enjoyed myself a lot there and felt like I had a good weekend overall.
This week's been quite busy with work and new responsibilities as a result of the review feedback that I'd gotten last weekin addition to some things that were completely unexpected, which is why I'm really glad that I'll be going on vacation tonight for 8 days. :D I'm really looking forward to meeting
haplo3k and
fusilliban for the first time, as well as meeting
relsqui and
testing4l again in Boston. And then after that I'm going to New York for 6 days to spend time there with another friend of mine and visit some relatives.
I have a feeling that it's going to be an exciting week ahead. ^^

Date: 2007-09-21 08:20 am (UTC)How much leave does MS give you anyway?

Date: 2007-09-21 01:37 pm (UTC)They give 5 hours per paycheck (that's 10 hours a month), and holidays are counted in blocks of 8 hours/day, and there's also 2 floating holidays (sort of free) per year. I've only taken 2 days off so far
so you can do the math.The maximum amount of leave in a year that I can get (I think so, anyway) is 3 weeks' worth, but I think it changes the longer you're here.
