Shopping at IKEA

30 items and a lot of money, $1653.53 later, I've got pretty much everything I need to get for at least the next 1 year. ^_^

Some of the items in the haul:

• a sofa-bed


• a twin-size bed, complete with mattress, sheets, pillow, pillow cover, etc.


• a chest of 4 drawers


• a bedside table with two drawers


• Several lamps


• A computer desk


• A coffee table


• Dining table and 4 chairs


• 18-piece crockery set (mostly plates)


• A TV hutch/thingy


• Two barstools

I'm really grateful to the people at IKEA, especially the cashiers and the people at the self-serve warehouse, who were very willing to help even though it was almost literally closing time. ^^;;;

And I'm especially grateful to itsacz for obliging me by taking me there in the first place, being patient with me while I agonized over many things such as the length of a desk, and finally being especially patient with me while I ran up and down in the self-serve warehouse and came out with about 3 loaded flat carts in addition to what we already had. ^^;;;;

I also had a nice dinner (beef stew with rice for me, and the famous Swedish meatballs for him) with him. ^_^

You should have hugged Cz in person. :p And no, I'm not implying anything. lol When are all those things going to be transported to your apartment and I'm curious, is the transportation fee included in that price? At least to me it doesn't sound bad. (the price) But it's still money. ^^;;

They're scheduled to be delivered this Saturday anywhere between 12 pm and 6 pm. And the delivery charge of $60 (plus tax) is included. ^^;;

And yeah, it is, but I can't procrastinate any more about it. :P

I was really hungry and I needed some rice. I stole tried one of the meatballs though and they're really good. ^_^

And I'll post pix once I have everything here and assembled and stuff. I doubt anyone really wants to see what my apartment looks like right now. :P

The meatballs weren't that special. They taste like every other regular meatball to me. Except a bit tastier. As for the sauce, not too special either. :p I thought they were cranberry sauce at first, which i dislike, but then this one wasn't bitter so it was ok. The lingonberry drink was pretty pleasant though.

I already bought a microwave from Fred Meyer. Besides, Ikea doesn't sell microwaves or TVs. :P

a) wao: i've always thought the point of the meatballs was the ligonberry jelly (which you can buy in their shop) :D

b) d: you need to stop denying things. the more vigorously you deny something, the more fishy and non-convincing it looks. you do know that, right. :D
