I had a pretty interesting dinner last night: two chicken breasts lightly marinated in teriyaki sauce with several strips of bacon and bread. It wasn't a lot, but I didn't feel hungry at least. ^^;; And I'll probably have something similar tonight, only with tofu. ^^;; I need to buy groceries soon, but not too many...
In my (physical) mailbox today:
- A Dellcatalog catalogue. Not too surprising, although it was addressed to someone else. And I should tell Semagic to use a British English dictionary, but I'm lazy
- A church newsletter (really one glossy sheet of paper), which had this interesting section (copied verbatim):
"Welcome
Visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. Because of that, we'd like to invite you to TEST DRIVE our church at www.EastLakeCC.com. You can view videos that show our services, children's classes, and just get a general feel for who we are. Then, come on out and visit us April 8th as we kick off our new message series. See you then!"
I think going on Easter Sunday to a church would be intimidating for most people. ^^;;;; And I've never heard of "test driving" a church before... In any case, it's not anywhere nearby (it's in Kirkland near I-405), so I don't think I'd consider going anyway...
Work was good today, although I was really busy most of the time answering emails and triaging issues (figuring out who to assign to and how important/severe the issue was, and whether it needed a bug or whether it was because someone wasn't doing something correctly), as well aspoking around in a debugger doing various investigations of crashed programs and systems. Those (poking around in debuggers) are always fun, although sometimes I end up being in way over my head. :P
I left at 7:30 feeling like I'd gotten quite a lot of work done. And I felt good that my manager and my skip-level manager (my manager's manager), as well as some other managers/developers from other teams, and the people whom I responded to, recognized my efforts and said so.
Although I have to be at workat before 8 am tomorrow... *groans*
Eating lunch alone was kind of unusual (although the food was pretty delicious), but someone dropped by in the evening on their way out, and that was a welcome distraction from work. ^^;; I may even manage to get that person to go with me to the gym on Saturday to workout together, I hope. :P
And that's about it for what happened today.
Tomorrow I should be getting a call on whether my rental application's been approved. I hope it will be. ^_^

Date: 2007-03-30 03:37 am (UTC)I remember my piano teacher invited me (I was 14 then) for some movie-screening and Easter trivia contest (I was there to play on a tiny portable keyboard), and my mother found it amusing that I knew the answers to more of the questions than the other children there. ^^;;;

Date: 2007-03-30 05:32 am (UTC)Hmm.. few people besides my manager recognize my efforts and say so. I think. I don't keep track. I just do it (tm). Good to have it on the performance review though.

will appear* ^^;;;;Yeah, it is good, although I guess given the different natures of our work you'll probably have fewer people complimenting you. ^^;;;;

And TEST DRIVE a church? O_o That's just plain weird.

Date: 2007-03-30 07:02 am (UTC)It is, although I think what they meant was "try out" in that sense. But it's still weird. *blames Americanizations and Microspeak*

Date: 2007-03-30 01:28 pm (UTC)If food tastes delicious even when you are eating alone that means there are bursts of happiness hiding inside. :p
And you're making a new friend! Yay! That's always nice. It's been a long time since I've done anything with someone that is not family. Except for the case of GD with whom sometimes I may eat, but I'm so shy that even when we go to the Uni's food court to eat I ask her to buy the food as carry out so that we can eat hidden in dad's office rather than eat in the food court surrounded by students and so much conversations and murmurs. When I'm going to eat alone I do the same. Carry out and hide in dad's office to eat by myself. ^^;; I can be pathetic, ne? lol
Hope your rental application will be approved indeed. Good luck!
And the bit about the Test Drive sent me into a laughing fit. I've never seen anything like that! Pretty amusing. Which reminds me, I have to sing again in another church next week. I have to confirm the exact day although I think it might be holy Friday. ^^; And the song I wanted to sing mum already told me will be sung by my sister! Yay! I haven't listened to my sister's singing for far too long. *plans to record sister singing* But what should I sing? Eek!

Date: 2007-03-30 02:17 pm (UTC)totallyCz. ^^;;; I was just being mysterious about it~I used to eat alone a lot of the time when I was in Uni, too, although I didn't have any offices to hide in, so I would just find a table and sit there alone and eat. ^^;;;
Thanks! Their office opens at 9:30, so I should probably hear from them around lunchtime. ^^;;
I wouldn't really know what to sing, except that you should definitely not sing karaoke or Christmas carols. ^^;;;

Date: 2007-03-30 07:52 pm (UTC)Thank God for my parents working in Uni since I always had their offices available to hide in them. :p
Hoping you got good news then. ^_^
And LOL I'll figure something out. I'll ask my sister tonight since she is coming home for the holy week. Maybe she'll have some suggestions.

Date: 2007-03-31 04:17 am (UTC)keep our relationship secretstop doing stuff with each other. No... wait... that didn't come out right. ^^;;;;In Uni, sometimes I ate alone, sometimes with friends, sometimes ... well, I eat lunch at home when I don't have classes around lunch time. :p Ah... those days...
