I was invited to a dinner party this evening at a fellow Sri Lankan's house in Seattle, and I was somewhat apprehensive about going there, because I hadn't gone to Seattle before and I was afraid of getting lost. I've gone to the U District twice, but that's different. :P
So I ended up leaving almost half an hour later than I originally intended, and I got to downtown Seattle itself without any trouble on the 545 Express in about half an hour, which is pretty good for a Saturday evening. :P The fun started after I took another bus to get nearer to the house...
I ended up walking in the wrong direction twice, and I had to call the person I was visiting to get details on how to get to the road his house was on. And once I was there, I walked right past his house without even noticing it until someone called out to me and asked whether I was going to his house! Not to mention it was also cold...
But I had a great time there, having a really nice dinner, meeting lots of new people and talking to them (and their cute kids). And I actually ended up having a glass of wine (actually, two or three partly filled glasses) as well as iced coffee (both plain and mixed with rum) and a cup of tea. And I got a lift back, so everything was all good. :)
And I also got my official learner's permit (the plastic version) in the mail today (or should that be yesterday?), so I can officially start taking driving lessons and using it as an ID.
I'm hoping I can get what I need to do done in about 2 or 3 hours at work today. ^^;;;

Did you still want me to record some basic Korean phrases so you can start practicing before your classes start?
