The first week was rather surprising. I've been used to a school environment, where most of the stuff is already pre-determined for you, and you only have a few choices to make. Uni is.. gah, there are so many choices to make, like which modules you want to take, and at which lecture and tutorial timeslots... it's enough to drive anyone batty. o.o
Since I've gone so often this week, I timed it, and it takes me almost 10 minutes to walk from my faculty to the bus-stop where I catch the bus directly home, instead of having to take an extra one. That was without me carrying anything, though. I can imagine that with a laptop and files, notes etc. it'd take maybe about 15 minutes or so, especially since I have to walk uphill at some points.
I finally got some Energizer triple-A batteries for my Palm, replacing those nameless ones which barely last half a day. I'm not using them though, only keeping them as a backup when my rechargeables run dry, which is about once every 3 days or so. ^^;; The Palm is useful for lots of stuff, like taking down important notes -- and writing the next chapter of WW during free periods. Wait, you didn't hear that from me. =P
I finally managed to find out who it is that kept turning my computer off abruptly, and it wasn't my mother or sister like I'd suspected.. it's our help, she's not exactly very intelligent and every time she wants to turn off the fan (or anything else!) she tries to pull out the plug, resulting in a temporary trip and knocking off power to everything else on the strip. I found out yesterday when I came home and it was off, and sM wasn't at home, so it couldn't have been her. I solved the problem by moving the fan to a different wall socket, one which doesn't have anything else on it, so even if she pulls out the plug nothing bad'll happen to the computer.
Overall, I guess you could say this has been an interesting week. Got to experience university life, and I also had a good time taking my cousin and her friend -- they flew in from England for a week's holiday -- around Singapore, we went bowling on Thursday night and I got the highest score twice and was told to stand in the corner. ^_^;;; I have so many plans of visiting people once I get my passport, should be in another 3 months or so. For now though, I'm still stuck here.
