US bins UK aid

Red tape has stopped hundreds of tons of chicken, rice and pate from reaching hungry evacuees. Instead, it is sitting in a warehouse the size of a football pitch.

Last night, the MoD confirmed that 400,000 operational ration packs had been shipped to the US.

British aid workers are furious at the waste as hunger ravages impoverished southern states.

One said: "The FDA has recalled aid because it has been condemned as unfit for human consumption despite the fact that these are NATO-approved rations of the same type fed to British soldiers in Iraq. Under NATO, US soldiers eat such rations, yet the starving of the South will see them go up in smoke because of FDA red tape."

First there was FEMA incompetence, then people being told "Oh, you can come back now.... NO WAIT YOU CAN'T BECAUSE THERE'S ANOTHER STORM OOPS!", and now this...

It makes me wonder what exactly is going on in Washington DC.
