Some post-war musings
Apr. 26th, 2003 02:39 pmI was browsing the off.ramp when I happened to see a post about an article... Please Attack Appalachia.
Well, it got me into thinking... the Bush administration claimed that the war in Iraq was to liberate the Iraqis and eliminate the danger of WMD; so far though, no WMDs have been found, and the Iraqis are demanding that the Americans leave... it has the potential to get out of control quickly.
Maybe a good start would be by (trying to) work out the Middle East peace process. But at this point, I don't really know if anything can come out from it since it's been going on for nearly 50 years now; at least though the NE peace talks in Sri Lanka seem to be getting somewhere, which is a good thing.
Like the song title says, "It Had Better Be Tonight" that the US comes clean on what it's going to do with Iraq.
Common Dreams
