An ode to the foot

The foot is a wonderful part of the human body. Yet, sadly, it is all too often unappreciated for its contributions.
Just think:
- Without the foot, there would be no football, only a ball. On the other hand, there wouldn't be any footbrawls either, just brawls. This might be a good thing? Perhaps, perhaps not...
- The song "Footloose" wouldn't exist. Who wants to hear a song which is called just "Loose" ? That doesn't mean anything.
- People would never get to experience the joy of being tickled on the soles of their (non-existent) feet.
- Chiropractors would go out of business. Think of all the unemployed!
Yes, I'm being silly. But the inspiration for this post came today when I limped back home from camp with extremely sore feet, and had to give up and take a taxi back from the MRT (train) station back home because I just couldn't walk any more. I wonder why wearing hard custom insoles and a pair of "medically-designed" boots doesn't seem to be enough, although I did have to run around today, which might have made my flat feet hurt more - but it shouldn't have hurt *that* much.
