I am trying to think of a good reason for this move.

At least it's an opt-in system, so most people shouldn't be affected. I do view it as another sign of LJ's slow decline into "yet another blogging site", though...

It's actually a feature that's been fairly frequently requested for a long, long time.

I think the reason this has been put in is because all of the other blogging sites have it. And since blogs are the way to go from rags to riches, *cough* *cough*, I could even see LJ losing market share without the feature.

Everything is going down the drain!

I finished reading Lolita in Tehran. It was interesting and gave me some insight into the social commotion in Iran before, during and after the fall of the Shah.

I still don't like The Great Gatsby, though. :PP
